Dream Jeep: Part 3

Next up on my dream Jeep Wrangler 2006 LJ Rubicon list of parts are the Bumpers and Tire Carrier. The possibilities are endless in this class but I have been able to decide on one particular style. When I began comparing all the bumpers out there I kept seeing the design as this huge bumper that weight a lot and look they would be easy to get hanged up on. While it may be nice to have a massive bumper on the Jeep, it just isn’t my style. Things like gas mileage, vehicle weight, and approach angle mean a bigger Continue Reading → Dream Jeep: Part 3

Dream Jeep: Part 2

A while back I mentioned a part that would be on my dream Jeep Wrangler 2006 LJ Rubicon, which is the Advance Adapter Rubicrawler and you can read that post here. To get on track with the next item in a list of items for my dream Jeep that I plan to update more frequently is from GenRight Off-Road. GenRight is know for their amazing fabrication skills with metal, specifically tig welding. So what is this part I desire? The  Hi-Fender Tube Kit – LJ from GenRight. This fender kit is the most important part of my Dream Jeep because Continue Reading → Dream Jeep: Part 2

Camping Devil's Lake

On June 11, 2010, I drove north on I-90/94 to Devil’s Lake State Park to camp, hike, and rock climb in Baraboo, WI. The park is known for it Quartzite rock that rises out of the ground 500Ft. forming bluffs that surround Devil’s lake. The Winnebago Native Americans called the lake “Ta-wa-cun-chuck-dah” which translated correctly means Spirit Lake or Sacred Lake, but for the sake of attracting tourist, the translation chosen was Devil’s Lake. I recommend reserving a site months in advance of your planned date because the sites fill up quickly, by clicking here. Even though all the sites Continue Reading → Camping Devil's Lake

Happy Mother's Day!

Let me start off by thanking all the mothers of the world, in their struggles of razing hellions like me. My brother and I personally got are mother her favorite perfume which she is running out of and a watch that came with a matching bracelet. Even though today is Mother’s Day, I still found some time to get out and have some fun which I ended up going Geocaching with my Dad and the dog. We went to Marengo ridge which is part of Mchenry Count Conservation District, but for us locals we remember it as Kunde Wood’s.  To Continue Reading → Happy Mother's Day!

Climbing

I would like to mark a changing point in my website with today’s post. I find that Climbing is a great metaphor for something that I have been dreaming about, and that dream is that “I want to replace Mike Rowe.” While that may seem mean it should be taken as complement because I want to be like him. What I like about him is how he brings everything and everyone’s mood down to earth.  He just seems to fit in everywhere, while retaining who he is as a person. He just laughs when in pain or bad a situation. Continue Reading → Climbing

JEEP Tiki Hunt!

The hunt is on to find three Jeep Tiki to win a brand new 2010 Jeep Wrangler Islander. The Three Tikis are named Steel, Trail, and Wave which I suspect their individual names are an indication to where they are hidden in the US. The Jeep Tiki Hunt contest started on April 1st and continues until all three Tiki are found. But in the mean time the date you need to remember is April 26, because that is when the Tikis will be hidden at there respective locations and at which time only 3 clues will be reviled. First three Continue Reading → JEEP Tiki Hunt!

New Trails Openning!

I subscribe to the National Off-Road Association e-mail newsletter that is sent out about once a month, with this months having quite the surprise. If you don’t know what NORA is I recommend you just over to their about NORA page. Instead of the usual list of trails that are being threatened to close, this months announces that in Northumberland County located in central Pennsylvania there will be a new Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) recreation area. This new OHV park in Pennsylvania is 6,000 acres of old coal mining land intended for the public to enjoy. Instead of paraphrasing their email Continue Reading → New Trails Openning!

Advance Adapter’s RubiCrawler

Some day I plan on having a dream Jeep, that specific model is an 2006 LJ Rubicon with 2″ of lift and 37″ MTR tires and one of the parts that it would include is the new advance adapter Rubicrawler. The Rubicrawler is a gear reduction box that allows you to have more selections in your gearing choice. Your standard Jeep only has 1:1 gear ratio in 4HI and when shifted into 4LO your generally have some where around 2.72 unless that Jeep of yours is Rubicon and in that case it would be 4.0:1. This means that your drive Continue Reading → Advance Adapter’s RubiCrawler
